I ordered a cubic box of custom dimensions, without any mounting (below or back) and with a screw down lid
* Price is not cheap, but also not that expensive compared to other offers on similar products. The slightly (only slightly) higher price certainly seems worth it to me. Im glad I escaped Amazon offers on this. And as I will say three times in total, that dimensions are specified primarily via inner dimensions is very important. That they are customizable is also great. As it happens, a box with my custom dimensions (including delivery) was only a couple of euro (maybe 4) more expensive than rival offers in similar but not quite right standard dimensions from other firms.
* Delivery was fast (couple of days -- within Germany).
* Arrived well packaged and undamaged (padded, padded again, and with anti-scratch foil on all sides of all pieces). Notably, however, a sheet acknowledging very clearly that parts could be damaged, missing, or wrongly coloured provided contact information (email with order number and photos) for addressing the issue.
* The acrylic is crystal clear and well-cut, with no ragged or rough edges. That inner dimensions are specified is very important!!!
* The instructions (via simple diagrams and some text in German) and assembly are clear. Small projecting tabs on some sides slip easily into slots on other sides -- there is a correct assembly order to do this in -- and are then screwed (the screws and nuts fit into holes and recesses in those tabs and slots). Naturally, the lid goes on last, and the other five sides already form a sturdy box before the lid is put on (i.e. the lid is not needed for structural stability).
* It came with sufficient screws and nuts (all tiny) and even a couple of spares -- plus a screwdriver and a magnet that aids (genuinely, although it is not actually necessary) in putting the fiddly nuts into their fiddlier receiving slots.
* So, assembly is required, and while the sides fit together nicely, the screws do have to be tiny. So if you do have shaky hands or unreliable eyes, this will be tricky. This is unavoidable, and I found that otherwise the entire assembly process was clear -- the pieces fit together in a logical order (figurable out even without instructions), everything you need to assemble it is provided, and the instructions are brief but clear.
* As noted, it all is based off the inner dimensions. These seem accurate (although I did not measure, just put my object of close to those dimension in and it fit nicely). Outer dimensions are basically inner dimensions plus thickness of acryllic. But also, the top lid overhangs all four sides by a couple of mm; the left and right sides are slightly wider on both edges than the back and front (or front and back are slightly wider than the sides), and the floor is slightly raised compared to the bottoms of two opposite sides. All these overhangs are by a couple of mm. (The floor being raised is handy because all screws are into the raised part, so there is no danger of a wonky screw making the box wobbly.) Visually, this means it is not a perfectly smooth cube -- and visually, the screws are also apparent (as can be seen in the diagrams here) -- but I see no real issue here given this is a simple, relatively cheap box. Only when you hold it in your hands do you really notice these overlaps. I may be imagining it, but my top may not be perfectly square -- as if one edge is a fraction of a mm longer than its opposite edge, so the edge joining these is then very slightly at an angle. So the machine cutting may not have perfect tolerance, but tolerances on tabs and slots etc were all fine, and this slight defect is almost imperceptible -- I may well be imagining it!
* I would say this is definitely, at least for what it is, a superior product and the product-delivery-assembly have actually been thought through with the customer in mind.
